Monlux Chronicles

 We definitely aren't considered normal.

Hell, I'd really question whether we are even considered human sometimes.

Sure, we are what's called stereotypes these days. You know the story, single mom with three kids blah blah blah.

Now, those three kids deal with not only their own messed up junk from parents who brought them into the world with no choice of their own, but... also their own, ya know, messed up junk..

And let's not get started on their ADHD mom who misplaces her keys more than anyone you've probably ever met. (If you want to argue, I guarantee I'm at least a close second) and who has so many issues from her past she's might as well be the subject of a text book.

But somehow, through the chaos, the pain and the ridiculous amount of frozen foods I'm shoving down their throats trying to get them in bed before 10PM we seem to be pretty well rounded.

We are goofy and sometimes sad. We are loud but love silent snuggles. We mess up a lot and hold each other accountable. We believe in promises and apologies. We are our own piece of perfection splashed with a lil' bit o' crazy.

Now let us begin with introductions.

First there's mom (pst, that's me). I'm a mama, a student, a server and... trying to describe myself isn't the easiest so I'm just going to tell you the kids description of me in all of the embarrassing glory... ok the verdict is in Kyden said I'm quirky. Yeah that's it it folks just quirky. Parker said I'm loving, compassionate and independent. I'll take that 😉 and Kassi exclaimed that I'm great at taking care of people, especially when they are sick. Isn't she a sweet peach?!

Next in numerical order we have Kyden. He's 12 going on 40, and hating every minute of it. He is super grade motivated and book learning has always come incredibly easy to him. He didn't get that from his parents so I say "miracles do happen!" He is ornery, goofy, incredibly passionate and thinks he knows everything. But really.. I guess all kids think they do right? He is a multi-artist that loves creating pictures and songs and is a pretty good singer too. His dad got him into rap years ago and as much as it's not this mama's cup of tea I'll listen all day, every day to this kids stuff.

Now how about Parker. My 11 year old take on every challenge but hide from any type of change kid 🤣. You read that right and yes I'm aware it's completely contradictive, just hear me out for a second. Parker is my us against the world child, my I will check every lock 3 times to make sure my family is safe child, my I'm gunna call Mom and see how her day at school was child. He only showers in the morning and doesn't like a random changes of a known schedule. But my lawd, this child has no fear. He's is a spider monkey and has had far more trips to the ER than his brother and sister combined.

Last and definitely not least because she will claim the world from your hand if you don't offer it to her. We have Kassi. She is a 7 year old dynamite. Perfect mixture of sass and love in one little tiny dancer body. She loves make up and all things girly (which she didn't get from her mama.) She has the heart of a giant and will stand up for herself and anyone around her that she feels isn't being treated right. Oh, she she also absolutely hates vegetables... don't try to change her mind on that one.

Wrap us all together and we are what I classify as four little balls of chaos full of laughter and love.

I've had a thing I've done on Facebook for years called the Monlux Chronicles where I share goofy stories and heartfelt moments we share and many people have asked me to write a book about our lives. Well here's the deal, remember that student part of my introduction? Yeah, I don't have the greatest amount of time for that. So we are going blog style guys. Monlux Chronicles with a little grit 😉.

So buckle up and stay tuned for the lil bit o' crazy our little family is gunna pull you into. Promise you won't expect it.
